Aflux Design – Hyde Park Gardens A breezy mint green, wood, earthy themed home

Aflux, is a design and architectural company who believe in ‘affordable luxury.”  The goal is to create luxurious spaces of beauty but remain affordable in price!

The brief for this Hyde Park Gardens project was to create a relaxed serene hideaway in London.  Aflux, painted the walls neutral pastel colours from Farrow & Ball to play with bold colours of calm sea blues and teal greens on the furnishings and accessories.  A focal point to the room was the warm remote-control gas fire, Aflux, added in woody accessories to warm up the flat and bring the ‘earthy’ tone of Hyde Park close by inside into the interiors.  The wooden dining table, wood accesorising the fire-place create a warm look in contrast to the glass windows.

The flat is in fact over 100-years old so the minute Aflux started stripping down the walls, new challenges to the project were discovered.  Due to the apartment being listed, certain pillars had to remain and be incorporated into the layout.  The height of the design had to be sacrificed by raising the floor as the beams were all sagging therefore Aflux, had to create a new floor losing a few cm’s in the height of the room.

The lighting above the dining room is a statement feature, and since the room is such a neutral palette Aflux, encouraged the client to be daring with accessories.  The client was extremely happy with the project management and the fact the company work as a one-stop shop to creating all the architecture and interiors.
