Feather & Black follows sister chain Multiyork into administration

Less than a week after its sister chain Multiyork went into administration, Feather & Black has followed suit.
The 25 store chain had been put up for sale by Wade Furniture Group on 25 September.
Duff & Phelps, which is handling the administration of Multiyork, has been appointed administrator.
Allan Graham, joint administrator said Feather & Black would continue to trade ‘in the short term with a view to finding a purchaser for the business as a going concern. We are confident that a buyer will be found.’
In the year to 2 October 2016, Feather & Black saw a pre-tax loss of £3.63m become a profit of £204,000: its first profit since 2010. Between the profitable years it lost £8.62m. Sales rose by £527,000 to £23.175m.
